FlClash Proxy Modes: Rule, Global, and Direct
Proxy mode controls which traffic goes through a proxy and which traffic connects directly. Rule mode is usually the default choice for daily use.
This site organizes FlClash download, setup, configuration, and troubleshooting information by platform.
Rule mode
Rule mode routes traffic based on rules in your configuration. It is suitable for daily use because local or direct traffic can remain direct while selected traffic uses a proxy node.
Global mode
Global mode usually sends most traffic through the selected node. It is useful for short testing sessions or rule troubleshooting. Before long-term use, check whether local services, LAN access, or system updates are affected.
Direct mode
Direct mode is useful when you want to pause proxy routing or compare behavior. If direct mode works but proxy modes do not, the issue may be related to the selected node, subscription, DNS, or system proxy settings.
Practical choice
- Daily browsing: start with Rule mode.
- Node testing: use Global mode briefly.
- Troubleshooting: compare Direct, Rule, and Global mode results.
